You must master the post-interview thank you email if you want to build a professional brand and leave an impression on employers.

It's important to thank the interviewer for their time and send them a professional, sincere, and engaging thank you email. It's important to let them know that you value their time and interest in meeting you.

Before we get into the details of how to send a thank you email after a successful interview, it is important to remember that an email does not replace a handwritten note thanking your interviewer. After an interview, I recommend that you do both. It may take up to a few days for your thank-you card to reach your interviewer. Email offers the benefit of sending a quick dose of gratitude to those who can give you the job that you desire.

These are the three main points to keep in mind when writing your thank-you email for your post-interview interview

Keep it short. You don't have to write a lengthy letter. Professionals are already overwhelmed by too many emails. Keep it brief and to the point.

Be professional. Focus on the topics that you have discussed with the interviewer. Do not divulge personal information.

You can customize it: While it's fine to use a standard template for your thank-you emails, you should add enough customization to ensure that your message isn't too generic. Refer to the previous conversation in every email. Make sure to include your company name and job title at the minimum.

Three email templates were created to help you. These templates can be used as a guide for creating your rockstar thank-you email to send following job interviews.

Template for a thank you email after an informational interview

Are you conducting informational interview with people from your industry? Informational interviews are informal one-on-one networking sessions that are a great way to make new connections and find out about job opportunities. You must thank the person for taking time to meet with you. It's a great way to make a lasting impression on this new professional acquaintance. It's also a great way for you to establish a long-lasting professional relationship.

Template for a Thank-You Email after a Job Interview (In Person)

Interviews in person are a great opportunity. Employers tell us that candidates' interest in the job is reflected in their follow-up. Candidates who are silent after an interview can come off as disinterested. If you truly want the job, write a personalized email right after the interview ends. Send it within 24 hours.

Subject Line: We are grateful to [[Your Name]] for your support of [[Position]].

Dear [[Contact No]],

Again, thank you for your time with me today. It was a pleasure to meet you and explore how I could help [[Organization]] in my new [[Job title]].

After our conversation, I feel even more certain that this job is one I would love and where I can succeed and make a significant contribution.

[[aspect of the job, particular challenge or note about organization]] are things that I'm particularly excited about.

[[Add a personal note to the conversation or share a promise resource.]]

You stated that this position decision will be made within the [[timeframe provided by employer]]. If you require any further information, please let me know.
